Flower Tiles Handmade Card

Hi Everyone!,
It’s time for another Challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies!
This Challenge is Punches and/or Dies. So grab your favorite punches or Dies to design something fantastic and join in the fun!

I have been wanting to blog about the dies I have in my stash, and this contest gave me a wonderful opportunity to do that! I use mostly dies and punches for my card designs. I will use the Cricut when I have more time or if I have a specific design in mind.

This is the card I made as Design Inspiration for the Punches or Dies challenge:

Here is my Card Walk Through!:
I started this card with a pattern floral paper from Penny Black Beaux Jardins

I could have used a paper cutter to cut out squares in a cleaner, more efficient way, but I decided to use a stitched square die cut I had bought in a set of different square sizes. I like this die cut because it leaves a stitching pattern at the sides of the square.

So I ran the paper and square die cut through the Cuttlebug 12 times!! to make my square tiles. I don’t call it an obsession – I call it “passion”…

I attached the tiles to a white background.

Then I attached that to a Black Background.

and then I attached that to a White Card (lots of layers made my card very sturdy!). I used a Gel Pen to make glittered silver dots on the white card under the layers.

I used my Corners Die to embellish the corners of the card. This Corner Die came in a set of 4 different corner styles.

I attached the 4 Decorative Corners:

I used a Elegant Square Frame Die to embellish the center of the card.

I attached the Elegant Square Frame to the card

I couldn’t decide if I wanted to lay it like a square or like a diamond. I chose to lay it like a diamond.

I used a Tim Holtz Sizzix Die Cut to make long leafy green vines.

I weaved the 4 vines through the 4 sides of the Square Frame:

I fussy Cut the flowers out of the leftover pattern paper. My paper was in shreds after I was done with it!

I used the flowers to make little bouquets on 2 sides.

I used the tiny flowers to embellish the frame and the corners

I used the Square Die Cut to make my sentiment square.

I stamped the sentiment “I Simply Enjoy You” on the square. The sentiment was simple but the card is very busy!

I attached an Epoxy Sticker to the sentiment to add dimension and gloss.

I attached the sentiment to the card and used a few pearls to decorate 2 of the corners of the Elegant Square Frame.

Thank you for Visiting!

  • Your card is a real delight and with so much work to create such a beauty, but sadly it is not eligible for Stamping Sensations as we are a stamping challenge. I do appreciate the chance to take a look though.
